Christine Quequish

Christine Quequish is originally from Opaskwayak Cree Nation in northern Manitoba. She lives in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, is married to Gary Quequish and has 2 sons; Christian and Joel. 

Christine attended Briercrest College in Saskatchewan, graduating with her bachelor’s degree in 1994.  She then attended Confederation College in Sioux Lookout where she received a Social Services Worker (SSW) Diploma and registered under the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.  

She has been working in the mental health field for over 25 years with NAN territory tribal councils such as Shibogama, IFNA, and Windigo in various capacities treating mental health, addictions, and those in crisis. She also worked for Nodin as a community counsellor in Sioux Lookout Ontario.

She has been working in Big Trout Lake First Nation as a “Choose Life Counselor” since 2018 and is proud of her current position as a counsellor with the Bringing Our Children Home Initiative.
