Melanie Beardy

 Melanie Beardy is from Bearskin Lake and moved to Thunder Bay approximately 7 years ago to reattend  Confederation College.  

She completed the Native Family and Child Worker program and is registered as a social service worker with the Ontario colleges.  She attended college alongside her 4 children.  Her eldest son completed the Police Foundations program, while her daughters attend the confederation college with the College Access Program, and will graduate this spring.  Her second son started as a full-time rotational cargo ramp attendant in Pickle Lake.  

Melanie is working with the ‘Bring our children initiative’ as of last spring and is an integral part of the process.  Melanie has become very close with all of our participants and staff, enjoys being part of the team and loves to attend initiative gatherings.
